Fingers and Feet
Motor Skills
Today we’ll talk about the difficulty that many of us experience (from time-to-time or permanently) with our fine motor skills.
For me they can vary from intriguing and nearly comical to painful, frustrating and even depressing. “Like I’m wearing thick gloves” or “as if they’re someone else’s fingers” are comments I’ve made about my hands just this week. Typing can be a ham-handed, dodgy-finger child-at-a-toy-piano affair some days.
I break things, drop things, and feel like an astronaut in his thick spacesuit trying to arrange flowers in zero gravity. But failure of fine motor skills does not just affect your hands.
Getting all of my toes into a sock can be my take on a Charlie Chaplin bit. Moving a toy from under the desk for one of the dogs often ends with me on the floor with the pack.
